Watergate, A New History - Garrett M. Graff

Just published this week, weighing in at 800 pages. I'm only 50 pages in but it's really good: It's all coming back to me - Colson, Hunt, Anthony Ulasewicz etc. etc.
.....Misty, water colored memories of The Way We Were.

I knew they paid hush money, but not who delivered it.

Amazing amount of detail. W and B come across ok but not perfect. John Dean comes across pretty badly truth to tell.
Just one tid bit: Mark Felt (deep throat) was using W for his own purpose. He leaked stories to a lot of people in hopes of making Patrick Grey look bad so Felt would be appointed FBI director. Nixon knew almost immedietly that Felt was the leaker from the FBI. Someone leaked his identity!
Fascinating stuff.

just learned about the "Chenault Affair."

To be fair to myself, I was only 15 at the time. Had never heard of this before.

So another election majorly affected by the skullduggery of the Rs.
