Didn't last long apparently...they're saying this clay is more like a hard surface, which would suit Serena...I also heard that Madrid has always been your non-typical clay tournament because of the altitude and its effect on the clay.

...... and in late June (which is when I visited) ..... it is freaking hot.

It's also clearly benefitted Roger this week, though perhaps if Rafa and Nole hadn't spent so much time bitching this week they could have focused more on playing better.

Rafa was especially bad when he lost to Fernando...he didn't even say Fernando played well...just bitched about the surface and how badly he played.
