1978: Cowboys 37, Redskins 10 The scuffling Skins and surging Cowboys entered this match up with identical 8-4 records, but Dallas asserted its dominance right out of the gate, with a pair of Rafael Septien field goals and a Scott Laidlaw TD run giving the Cowboys a 13-0 head start. Roger Staubachs 53-yard connection with Drew Pearson in the 2nd quarter pretty much put this game to rest. The Cowboys would win out their schedule to finish 12-4, while the Skins would lose out to miss the playoffs entirely.
