Danny Boy should be fined for staging an NFL playoff game on a field worse than a cow pasture.

It was noting but scattered sprigs of grass and painted dirt. Now his franchise QB is out 6-12 months and could be damaged goods forever. Here is the latest just after today's surgery......

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/01/09/rg3s-knee-surgery-has-been-completed-plans-to-rehab-in-florida/

Mark Maske of the Washington Post reports that Griffin’s knee surgery was completed just after noon Wednesday. Dr. James Andrews repaired Griffin’s ACL and LCL.

Griffin’s rehab will keep him in Florida “for the foreseeable future,” Maske reports, with the first six to eight weeks of the rehab being viewed as particularly important.

Estimates on the recovery time have ranged from as short as six months to as long as 12 months, which means anywhere from Griffin being ready for the start of training camp to Griffin missing the entire 2013 season. At this point it’s simply too soon to say.

All that can be said is that this is a major surgery, creating a major question mark about the future of one of the NFL’s brightest young stars.

Edit to add: The field conditions may or may not have contributed to the injury, but the condition of that field was inexcusable. Danny Boy has billions but can't afford a decent playing surface?

school ball back in the day, and when November came around the fields became torn up and you had far more injuries.
There is no excuse for that when you are a billionaire owner of an NFL team. It's the only playing surface in the NFL this year that looked like some late November high school practice field.

Like I said, the field may or may not have contributed, but there is still no excuse for it's condition.

See what the Seahawks say happened to Clemons. He torn his ACL. Too. From what I heard there was a Kenny Chesney concert before hand that tore up the sod

there were two road games following -- 20 days until they faced the Cowboys at home. I know other teams can do this in more moderate climates, but don't know about DC. BTW, natural surfaces are more forgiving than artificial, as I understand.
