49ers' 6-fold plan for stopping Packers

Great news for those flummoxed by NFL schemes and strategy: If you can count, you can track the biggest story line in the 49ers' divisional-playoff showdown against the visiting Packers on Saturday.

That's right, San Francisco's recipe for stopping Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers is as easy as one, two, three, four, five, six ... and no more.

If the 49ers can follow their season-opening blueprint and pressure Rodgers - and stop the Packers' ground game - with just six defenders near the line of scrimmage, the score could mirror Week 1: San Francisco 30, Green Bay 22.

ever since he went down, this defense has fallen apart. Who knows how long he can go or if he'll even be effective?
