NFL laments recent hires weren't minorities; looking to adjust 'Rooney Rule'

A.P. / 1-18-13

Eight teams hired new coaches and seven more filled general manager positions with the New York Jets completing their search by hiring John Idzik. None of those jobs went to a minority.

Now the league is considering revisions to the "Rooney Rule," which mandates that teams must interview at least one minority candidate for front-office and head coaching jobs.

that Ray Horton didn't get the Cardinals job. I saw that he was also interviewed by the Bills and Browns for the HC vacancy, likely to fulfill Rooney rule requirement. I was hoping it was more serious w/ the Cardinals but hard to say after they didn't hire him after several declines and then released him for Arians guy. Management sure makes it difficult to root for them.

In their 100+ year history, they were only in 1 super bowl. They can't even be called an "old guard" team......they're an ancient guard team, solely owned by one family whose goal isn't to win, but to maintain a steady money flow to the family. Until the team gets sold, there is no way they will ever be in the super bowl again...........
