(10,115 posts)interesting topics. Braun was given the opportunity to cut a deal for the remainder of a lost season for Brewers. But what about the Colons who are playing for winning teams. They won't cut deals for obvious reasons and get to play dirty until the off season? Baseball will have a blach eye if this happens.

(64,933 posts)just the balance of the season. He will still be paid, also.
ETA: He will not be paid for the last 65 games he was banned for.

(10,115 posts)It appears a longshot that MLB could ever do lifetime ban against Arod.

(56,177 posts)I think MLB...read, Bud Selig...is the biggest hypocrite on this planet, ignoring and ignoring this shit until it's right in his face then has to act like they're handling it.

(12,336 posts)Did MLB target him because he beat the rap last time?
One more thing. I have heard a few commentators stating that Braun should give his MVP award back. That's a bunch of bullshit. Should Sosa return his MVP? Should Bonds
return his? In a word, no.
chelsea0011
(10,115 posts)his name showed up, they went right after him and forced his hand into a settlement. And MLB must have had him dead to rights. Speculation is that Arod has been held back from playing with a fake injury because he is doing his own settlement. The rotten thing about all this is, as I mentioned earlier, that players on teams that are out of it are doing settlements. Does anyone not believe Colon is not on something? If his head gets any bigger, his body won't support it. He won't settle. He will utilize his ability to protest the results and finish out the season. And MLB won't be able to name him at all while this goes on. Braun shouldn't have been allowed to shortchange the penalty with a settlement. He should have been smacked with 100 games.

(17,087 posts)Now, if baseball were serious and suspended an Ortiz, a Verlander, or Brady Anderson Chris Davis, it would be getting its message of severity out there. Ryan Braun? Please.
Alex Rodriguez doesnt count. Everybody knows he cheats. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
No, this isnt turning the system into a witch hunt, but rather a test of reality. If were to believe only middling players like Cabrera and superstars lagging in last place are to blame for the leagues drug problem, then lets all just get together and eat cotton candy at the fair, skipping our way to the Ferris wheel humming Zip a Dee Doo Dah. Some of us just arent that stupid.
