Report: Dodgers player boasted of urinating in Diamondbacks pool at Chase Field

As reporter Tony Jackson writes in his blog, new information coming to light regarding the Los Angeles Dodgers taking their NL West-clinching celebration into the Chase Field pool this past week takes the story to "a whole different place."

Jackson says that at least one Dodgers player urinated in the pool and loudly boasted about it. Jackson also says indications are that "multiple" players peed in the neo-iconic pool, which is just beyond the outfield fence in right center and really ties the stadium together.

Gee, wiz, guys. Really? Dodger blue, not Dodger yellow.

After reportedly asking the Dodgers beforehand not to celebrate outside of the visitor's clubhouse, the Diamondbacks raised a fuss about the pool party. A group of Dodgers, perhaps 10-15 — possibly realizing that the Supreme Court has roundly rejected prior restraint — defied the request. Afterward, D-backs utility man Willie Bloomquist, without even getting into any possible micturating, said the Dodgers acted "classless." A few locals in the lapdog portion of the media agreed and, on the whole, the D-backs looked like whiners....

They were talking about how good their product (an IT product) is and how it is installed at Marlin's Park, and I damn near started to laugh at the guy, as I was ready to ask him if it had actually been used or seen by anyone!!

Jackson: &quot huge gasp) Ahmmmm! I'm tellin'!!!"

A little context on just why Jackson might post a hearsay story and refuse to attribute it:

For what it's worth, I come down on the side of meaningless boast. As I said before though... Jumping in the pool is not something I would have done as a player, but isn't it ODD that the vehicle was right there underneath the pool so they could use it to climb over the fence? Am I the only person who noticed that?

but understandably the D-Backs are not happy. Even Brandon McCarthy, who originally defended the Dodgers pool party..

Celebrating is fun. I don't care how and where you do it. Only thing to care about is what we need to do to celebrate in our pool next year.

has now condemned the Dodger players...

"My presumption was that if it was just based on having fun and celebrating, that's one thing," said D-backs right-hander Brandon McCarthy, who tweeted at the time that he pool party seemed to be no big deal.

"If you have some people going out of their way to be (expletives), that's a whole 'nother thing. If it is something where you are going out to be disrespectful, then that is kind of a simple 'Grow up.''

as a Padre's fan, I don't particularly care for the Dodgers, but the DBags brought this on themselves, and they're really not helping the situation with their incessant whining. Yes, Brandon, grow the fuck up.
