Tim Tebow offered deal in Italy

A.P. / ROME -- Tim Tebow has been offered a four-month contract by the Italian federation for American football.

The Milano Seamen say they would be "more than happy" to sign the free-agent quarterback.

Seamen president Marco Mutti tells The Associated Press, "The offer has been made to his agent and now we're waiting for a response. ... We would be more than happy to have him."

A federation spokesman tells the AP that the offer is for $200,000.

I suggested he could be playing for pizza months ago.

BTW, Playing for Pizza is a short novel written by John Grisham a few years back about a down-and-out NFL quarterback who lands a job playing Italian football. Fun read.

Only Tebow could go from playing for a pro football team to another team abroad for less dough (no pun intended).
