At the annual Longhorns Football Banquet on Friday, Brown ended the ceremony by looking ahead to Texas next game, while still not making any affirmation about his long-term future.
Im proud of this team, Brown said. Its been a team with no excuses, its been a team with no regrets and now what we need to do is go beat Oregon.
Shortly before Browns remarks, Kirk Herbstreit of ESPN reported Alabama reached a multi-year extension with Alabama coach Nick Saban, who has long been mentioned as a possible replacement for Brown....

New Texas athletic director Steve Patterson didnt exactly tip his hand about the status of coach Mack Brown on Friday, although he hopes to continue to work alongside him.
Hopefully well get together, be able to work for many years to come, Patterson said Friday evening at the Longhorns Football banquet.
The banquet, which started at 6:30 p.m. Friday, is currently airing on Longhorn Network. Brown is scheduled to speak at the end of the banquet. Stay tuned

Or at least the Bluest part of it, the Bay Area. Our window is already closing thanks to the meteoric, completely legitimate rise of the 'Roidhawks. His departure would usher in another era of 6-10 mediocrity.
