He should be given consideration for the NFL defensive player of the year. He's among the league leaders in tackles, he's a rock at the LB position for the 49ers, even though Patrick Willis gets more press, and he just made the biggest play of the season.

After Atlanta recovered the onside kick, I was sweating like a pig. I was thinking somebody had to make a play. A loss would have meant playing possibly the hottest team in the league on their home field next week just to survive. A tall order to say the least..

What a way to say goodbye to Candlestick..

played like a 11-4 team tonight, rather than a 4-11 team. They did so good last year. I have no idea how it all got flipped upside down this season.

3. The NFL is a joke sometimes when it comes to the playoffs.

Teams with 7-9 or 8-8 records can make the playoffs winning their division and host the first round. Remember Denver with Tebow along with Seattle a few years ago? Then you have teams with 11-5 records not even make the playoffs when they play "real" NFL football in a "real" NFL division. This stupid shit needs to stop!

4. NFL will use this as a reason to add another playoff spot

I think 10 wins should be necessary in order to win a division. Team finishes 9-7 and the division playoff spot falls to the team with the best record. This year it would be the Cardinals.

On the other hand, there's no debate the Packers are a different team with Aaron Rodgers at QB. I'd argue the Pack could be 10-6, maybe 11-5, had he not been injured. With him back they're a viable playoff team, even with a 8-7-1 record.

Thing is, this type of scenario doesn't happen all the time.

NFL could also make it a four division league. Two divisions per conference, divided by east and west.

That being said, put your money on another wildcard spot.
