When I hear it applied to athletes, I cringe. As Charles Barkley said, "A million guys can dunk a basketball in jail; should they be role models?"

But what I really don't care about the term -- besides that it's such a cliche favored by sports journalists and idiots in general -- is that there's some kind of implied morals principle at work suggesting the population aspire to "be" a certain way. I'm happy with my morals the way they are.
