Longhorn Purge - Now up to six including Bergeron

The purging of the Texas Longhorns football roster continues as HornsDigest.com reports that running back Joe Bergeron and safety Josh Turner have been dismissed from the team.

Linebacker Kendall Thompson is off the team too, but that's because he has suffered multiple concussions, according to an Orangebloods.com report.

After Bergeron missed the end of spring practice, coach Charlie Strong said at Big 12 media days that Bergeron -- the biggest name of Friday's dismissed duo -- was "back in the mix."

(snip)

News of Bergeron and Turner's dismissals comes a day after running back Jalen Overstreet and defensive back Chevoski Collins were dismissed from the program for a violation of team rules and a day after wide receivers Kendall Sanders and Montrel Meander were arrested, suspended and charged with felony sexual assault....

I think Mack Brown would have done the same thing as Strong.

Combined with all the people at A&M that have been arrested it's beginning to look like the best football team in Texas might come from the JUCO or Texas Lutheran.

The kind of shit that has happened is not supposed to happen at TCU. This is a very small private school without the distractions that are at the bigger state schools.

It seems like the lack of better judgment runs rampant throughout all athletic programs. In the past some of these incidents may have been covered up and now that no longer happens.
