Facebook Is Very Telling...

Bronco 1: Come on Denver if they are stupid enough to keep Brady in let's HURT him!!!!

Friend of Bronco 1: Ewww. Really?

Bronco 1: Yes really! Come on you gotta admit he doesn't need to be with the score the way it is.

Later in the evening...

Bronco 1: Really classy new England!!! Brady punting really!!!!

And later...

Bronco 1: hanks for a great season Tebow, already looking forward to next season! It is comforting to know that good guys really do exist. Thank you!!!

And later...

Bronco 1: haring from my friend: at least all the Tebow-hatred have the perfect idol to beat him...a swell guy who left his knocked up girlfriend for a underware model, and whose whole worth is determined by success, wealth and image. I'll take the loser in this contest to be a role model for any of my kiddie any day!

I'm hoping I don't need to point out the mistakes and ridiculous nature of this nonsense, but I do hope the DUers who fail to understand the cultural crap around Tebow will start to wake up.

Yeah, I'm a butthead. I know.

This is actually about idiot "Christian" sports fan in general.

This individual is a Jets fan, supposedly. Though she will root for the Lions, Tigers, Red Wings, Yankees, and whoever, when it serves her purpose.

She is a classic follower, and that's why it matters when people stand up to idiots like Tebow. He supports her degenerative world view, and she votes that way.

I guess I misunderstood because of the "Bronco 1" moniker.

But, yeah, there are tons of rather silly tebow fans who invest all sorts of supernatural and emotional shit in Tebow. I find it irritating and ridiculous. There is also an aspect of it that is kind of unintentionally hilarious, in that it completely trivializes their own belief system with things like this:

The Broncos were and are a mediocre team. Their defense and running game helped them make the playoffs, only because they were in a crap division. Tebow had little to nothing to do with it.

Yet, the nation must listen to nothing but Tebow talk when it comes to the NFL for the past week?

Say what?

There has only been one game (against the Vikings) where Tebow played like a serviceable pro QB for the bulk of the game. He's had some great fourth quarters that wouldn't have needed to be so great if he'd played decent football for the first three quarters. The defense and the running game have been the key to Denver's playoff run. To be thorough and accurate, I think it's also worth pointing out that Tebow has helped the running game in that the prospect of him as a running threat has opened up options for the RBs. But Tebow has gotten way more hype and credit than warranted. Exponentially more.

As a Broncos fan, I've been saying all season that I hope the victories don't blind the front office to the very obvious flaws of their QB. That said, as I said in the game thread, it's been a fun season to watch, and it lasted two weeks longer than I expected it to.

Painting with a pretty broad brush there. We get it - you hate Tebow & you hate that he is demonstrably Christian. Understand that others may be more tolerant of his viewpoint. As a Christian on the left I get pretty tired of hearing all the stereotypes.

I'm not a Brady fan by any means, but gimme a break!

That "swell guy" was drafted in the 6th round; he didn't have hoards of rabid fans chanting for him to start over Bledsoe, he didn't make his faith a polarizing issue, he just learned the system his coach put in place and did his damn job.

Tebow is a byproduct of the media, plain and simple. If that's not the case then every athletically gifted option QB in college footbal would have a place on an NFL roster as a QB.

for two years, was seventh on the depth chart and had to battle with Drew Henson for the starting position (with many fans screaming for Henson). Yeah...I'm not a huge Brady fan either but the guy is exalted for a reason. A good reason when it comes to football.
