Here's why I loathe Timmeh Teblow...

Today, I figure it's a good day at the gym and when I'm on the bikes upstairs I'll be able to watch highlights of the Pats' romp last night...

Well, I did, sort of. But the main story was that Timmeh Teblow's "wild ride comes to an end."

The Christianists at ESPN had pretty much decided he was the greatest player ever even before he was drafted...they've been promoting a guy who probably wouldn't have been drafted (definitely not in the first round) simply because of his overbearing Christian beliefs and self-promotion. Teblow might get better, but I don't think he will. But still I will be hearing about him until Kingdom come, which, IMHO, ain't gonna happen.

So yeah, I loathe Timmeh, but I guess I hate ESPN more.

The NFL thought they'd found the perfect "patron saint" -- Christian, virginal, conservative, and miraculous, Tebow was the antidote for the PR black eye the owners took over the lockout. So they huddled with the media and called the play: turn Tebow into a one-man franchise. And it would have worked if he'd had the talent and leadership to back it with.

I absolutely agree that Tebow is neither a bad player nor lacks the potential to become a good player. But he'll have to take a good hard look at his shortcomings and stop trying to plaster them over with faith.

the Giants beat the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game and kneeling...he had the decency to try and do it in private...something Teblow could learn about.

Of course, all the other Giants were praying as the 49'ers field goal at the end went wide...
