Native Americans to rally outside Cardinals, Redskins game in Glendale
Sunday morning, just before the Arizona Cardinals take on the Washington Redskins, a group of Native American advocates and their allies will host a march, news conference and rally outside of University of Phoenix Stadium.
With the slogan "Change the name. Change the mascot," the Glendale rally is the first in a series of rallies and protests dedicated to more respectful representation of indigenous peoples.

The next protests are scheduled at Washington games at football stadiums in Arlington, Texas; Minneapolis; Santa Clara, Calif., and Landover, Md. Locations were selected by Native American communities near stadiums on Washington's schedule and tend to be near fairly large, socially and politically well-organized communities.
"We honor our ancestors. We honor the coming generations. We honor Mother Earth and we are not mascots," says a woman's voice in the video promoting the rally on social media.
"Native Americans deserve the right to determine how our culture and identity is represented in media and who are concerned for the future of Native American youth," organizer Nicholet Deschine Parkhurst said.
