Some people were saying the ball has to hit the ground before it can be fielded by the kicking team. Which must be a high school rule, because I've never heard that before.

or more. Doesn't matter on the ground/in the air, it's anyone's ball after 10 yards. Punts, on the other hand, have to hit a player on the receiving team before it's a free ball.

The player wasn't offside (I don't think) and the ball went 10 yards. I believe there's also a rule about players not being able to sneak in the game from the sidelines (if they had only 10 guys on the field and this guy jumped off the sidelines at the last second to join the play) but the player was in the game from the start of the clip, so I don't believe that applies.

but if going by NFL offside it is close, can't go past the line until the ball is kicked but it looks like he leaves a little bit before the ball is kicked.

It took me a few views to realize he was hiding back there.
