Andy Murray clearly isn't back, because he lost to Kei in straight sets...the tournaments he recently won he didn't really play anyone highly ranked.
Revenge is sweet...Roger beat Milos, 6-1, 7-6.

(34,108 posts)Good outcomes for these matches as far as I am concerned. I was a little worried about Fed even though he is playing well. Great news.
These are not televised anywhere are they? Been too busy to look.
Thanks.

(56,177 posts)I bet you can watch them online through ESPN...
MuseRider
(34,108 posts)so much is going to streaming these days. We are slower than dial-up most of the time. Thanks though. I will watch for the results. I just saw your spoiler, thanks!

(56,177 posts)I bet it's on that...they cover a lot of tournaments...ESPN is probably streaming what the Tennis Channel is showing..and the Tennis Channel shows matches over and over and over...

(32,056 posts)I should have a chance to check out Tennis Channel today so hopefully will catch it.
Yeesh, I thought I could try and watch it, checked the score and it was already over, 6-3, 6-2...I'm not sure if this means Roger is definitely through.
TBF
(32,056 posts)for the semis one of two ways: The 33-year-old Federer will qualify for the semi-finals should he beat Nishikori and Milos Raonic beat Murray in the Tuesday's evening match. The Swiss could also qualify if he beats Nishikori in two sets and Murray defeats Raonic in three sets.
It was over too quick - I was out walking the dogs!
I think he'll beat Andy tomorrow...he's playing well and Andy isn't.

(56,177 posts)Stan throttled Tomas, 6-1, 6-1...Tomas tried to get Lendl to be his coach, Lendl said he was too busy...Tomas needs someone or something right now.
joeybee12
(56,177 posts)Tomas beat Marin easily, and Djoker beat Stan surprisingly easily...Marin's out, and I assume Djoker is in, and it comes down to Stan or Tomas...
joeybee12
(56,177 posts)Kei looks like he'll win.
joeybee12
(56,177 posts)This is because Kei won...he goes through if Andy loses, or even if Andy loses a set against Roger...I can never figure this out.
joeybee12
(56,177 posts)Roger won...can you stand it...6-0, 6-1 over the Limey Bastard. In a tournament with lots of lopsided wins, this is the most one-sided...this means Kei is through with Roger on this side.

(32,056 posts)an article here:
You would think that, after four nights of uncompetitive singles tennis at the ATP World Tour Finals, the London crowd would not take kindly to another round-robin rout. Yet applause cascaded from the heights of the O2 Arena, and not a boo or whistle was audible, as Great Britains own Andy Murray lost the first set of his final round-robin matchalong with any chance at reaching the semifinals6-0 to Roger Federer.
The power of Fed is something to behold ...

(77,080 posts)....... Djoker took Berdych to the woodshed and will finish the year #1. ...... Can't seem to get a competitive match in this tournament.
joeybee12
(56,177 posts)And the outcome of that one wouldn't have mattered in the long run...Marin is playing like shit, so I bet the second match today will be a romp also...
marmar
(77,080 posts)...... seems to happen to a lot of the players just outside of the Big 3 (ie Wawrinka, Cilic) who sneak a GS title.
joeybee12
(56,177 posts)But Marin seems to be doing worse than most.
joeybee12
(56,177 posts)Stan is through to the semis...he is up 5-2 in the first set and only needed to win 3 games total in this match to make it through.. Swiss v Swiss then Japanese vs Serb

(32,056 posts)Glad he's playing well! Mostly I'm still glowing over the Federer victory though. That should give him the fight to go after Djoker.
joeybee12
(56,177 posts)Would have been nice to have an all-Swiss final. Odds are it's Roger v Djoker...can't see Kei beating Djoker again, and barring anything really weird, Roger is playing too well for Stan to beat him this time.

(56,177 posts)Jebus...5 all in the third.
it was an exquisite win but I think I need to take my blood pressure medicine early tonight. I don't think he likes beating Stan though. He's always more subdued in those victories.
joeybee12
(56,177 posts)Because he wants to win, and there is a friendship so the win is always tempered. I would have been cheering for Stan tomorrow had he won...seemed to me on the big points he played sort of tentatively.
