http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/12/12/teammates-say-johnny-manziel-is-a-nightmare-in-practice/In practice, at least.
Browns safety Donte Whitner told Albert Breer of the NFL Network that Manziel was a nightmare to practice against because of his ability to improvise.
You see him being Johnny Football, Whitner said. You dont see him trying to duplicate anybodys quarterbacking style, just sitting in the pocket.
Really? Who would have thought?

(17,086 posts)I've seen enough evidence of what becomes of improvisers in the NFL.
Steve Young recounts coaches who, in practice, would tie his legs together to force him to learn to play from the pocket. Worked out just fine.

(31,168 posts)Typical rookie stuff, actually. But I have to wonder if he's starting to question all those late nights and the rather lackadaisical approach to practice he's shown as back-up.

(29,322 posts)rather than preparing for the 10 guys on the field, a QB like him they'll focus on his ability to run with the ball.

(31,168 posts)He looked rattled in the first half. Anemic o-line didn't help. He must learn not to throw off his heels too. Too many passes like that so far.
