3. There Are Only 2 Teams Every Year

And one is the same every year, and the other team is the same for 5 years, then changes to another team. Right now it's Notre dame. Was Tennesee for a while.

I woudn't call the sport awful, but it's definitely grotesquely top heavy.

Not for some future obscene contract...oh wait, at most schools it's not in the future...they're selling shit, having boosters pay for everything...Women's basketball is the one of the few college sports that is NOT a joke.

that IS a joke.

There's little competition in women's college basketball, and that makes the sport very boring, imo.

But there were quite a few teams battling it for second, ND, SC, Baylor to name a few...the women's game is getting better...I guess UCLA in the 60's and 70's was a joke also.

In women's basketball, there are very few teams that can win the title, which, to me, makes it a joke.

I wasn't born yet when UCLA was dominating, but it seemed like there were at least a few close games in the tournament and championship games between UCLA and its opponent.

at the astrodome and '69 when UCLA didn't have a really big star. Or when David Thompson and NC State. At least there were some good games.

The last year especially they won the semi at the last minute, then it was very close with TN for the title...UCONN has always been up there, but it's only the past few years when no one can touch them...that will change...some programs are getting better...but it'll take longer when there's not a huge paycheck as soon as they go pro...

her name was Sandra Smallwood and she was at Belmont in NC. she is in their HOF and was really great at many sports. A great shooter. she used a men's ball just like we all did and their is no reason why they shouldn't be using a men's ball. Either tat or make the rim smaller.

I was curious as to how far that went back. I wonder if a men's ball would take its toll over the long season.

about 140 lbs. She would get right in there with the men. It was around 1983 and my friend bob Cermak and I were at The Sporting Club in Atlanta and we saw her shooting and we went over to her and asked her if she wanted to play and boy could she play. I played with her for years and in 1988 we were watching the women's olympic team and she turned to me and said I could make that team and she sure could have. big celtic fan and she loved Bird. We went to a Hawks-Bulls game to watch michael jordan and neither of us could believe him.
