(56,177 posts)And why do Sloane and Serena always draw each other in the first round. Well, if Sloane got her act together and starting winning again, she'd be seeded and this wouldn't happen.

(56,177 posts)It's a good win for Sloane, although it doesn't mean she'll get far...she hasn't really shown anything of late to make me think she's turned things around.

(29,770 posts)D*mn. But good for Sloan, now if she can keep it going....although I'll miss Venus.

(72,790 posts)I really like Isner.
Indifferent on McHale. She really doesn't do much for me.

Don't want to be a spoiler so I will just say hello and mention that one of my favorite things about the French is to see Fabrice Santoro. Loved watching him play back in the day☺.

(72,790 posts)is silenced. Sent home from Paris before the quarterfinals.
I actually have grown to like her.

(56,177 posts)But she worked her ass off to get back to the top after very serious shoulder surgery...I give her a lot of credit.

(72,790 posts)I respect the hard work she put in. And I feel she really grew up. She is kind of one of the elder stateswomen of the game now and, to me anyway, it seems like she kind of has cherished and embraced that role.

(29,770 posts)I can't, I can only listen to about two of her service games, and then she's on mute. Ugh..... and it's got nothing to do with how hard she works.

(72,790 posts)I really don't have an issue with the grunts and groans and screams, and I've seen some of the "loud" ones in person. Doesn't bother me.

Just Nadal's second loss ever at the French Open.

(56,177 posts)Last year really was a fluke, and he made it to the quarters without playing a ranked player...
