Olympics: IOC adds five new sports to Games for Tokyo 2020
Updated 1658 GMT (0058 HKT) August 4, 2016
(CNN) - If you think skateboarding is a pursuit for hooded teenagers congregating under a bridge and not interested in reaching the pinnacle of world sport, it's time to think again.
That's because skateboarding is one of five sports -- along with karate, surfing, sports climbing and baseball/softball -- that the International Olympic Committee has added to the next edition of the Summer Games at Tokyo 2020.
The vote, described as "the most comprehensive evolution of the Olympic programme in modern history," will not see any of the 28 events already scheduled for Tokyo 2020 replaced, instead adding 18 events and 474 athletes.
Both the IOC and the Tokyo Organizing Committee placed an emphasis on getting a younger generation of athletes excited about the Games.

Will Hawai'i be allowed to compete independently in surfriding? After all, it is their sport as much as the marathon is Greece's. And of course, karate is one of the host country's sports.

Scheduled for August 14-21 this year. Unless it gets cut it will be there for 2020.

Team USA hoops stars...DeAndre Jordan, DeMarcus "Boogie" Cousins, DeMar Derozan and possibly 3 other players went out on the town Wednesday night in Rio and strolled into Termas Monte Carlo, which Rolling Stone called "one of the high end brothels in Rio."
When you call the place, they'll tell you it's a spa that plays music -- and it's just for male customers. Oh, and they have a full bar. As for what happened inside, the players were only seen hanging at the bar. Multiple sources tell us they bought booze -- nothing more.
A source close to the team tells us..."They realized it wasn't the right place for them and immediately left."
