Miami Dolphins sell stadium naming rights to Hard Rock International

<snip>

"Not only will the Miami Dolphins’ stadium have a brand-new look when it reopens with a canopy covering the stands, the venue that has sported many names will have another.

Get ready for Hard Rock Stadium.

Hard Rock International has bought the naming rights to the rebuilt Dolphins stadium in a multi-year deal, meaning Hard Rock Stadium will kick off the football season in September.

It also means in this world of pop culture and social media that actor Sean Connery’s steely greeting from his 1996 movie, The Rock, will get regular play from Dolphins and University of Miami fans:

“Welcome to The Rock.”

The Dolphins will announce the deal at a Wednesday news conference, along with officials of Hard Rock International, the Seminole Tribe of Florida, UM and the Orange Bowl and the Super Bowl, as well as Miami rapper Pitbull."

Miami fans deserve better than what they've been getting from Dolphins ownership and management.
