1. it was inevitable - in Boston, just making the postseason (then tanking) is not an option

The 2017 team was weirdly unlikable - they never did find a replacement for Papi's leadership (and power). Too many in-game decision errors.

But....who? DiSarcina? Will be interesting to watch (as a 50 year Red Sox fan!)
