Cops: Home of Patriots’ Gronk robbed during Super Bowl week

Today

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Police say the home of New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was robbed while he was away at the Super Bowl.

Foxborough Police Chief William Baker confirmed Tuesday morning that his department is investigating a burglary at Gronkowski’s home.

He said officers responded to the home just after 6 p.m. Monday.

Baker said “out of respect for Mr. Gronkowski’s privacy and because this is an active and dynamic criminal investigation we’re not going to be releasing any information right now about what was stolen and whether any suspects exist.”

I'd like to hear exactly how well those guns were secured. (n/t) Iggo Feb 2018 #6

Although given that the players are out of town so much, both during the regular season and after, it might be surprising that more of their homes aren't burglarized at such times.

There are a couple of things I find kind of odd about it. First, he has two housemates. I'm assuming that's to have the whole bro thing going, but still weird. Second the burglars broke into the house, but couldn't beat his bedroom lock?

It's at least possible. I agree with the first poster that i'm surprised this doesn't happen more often. Not week to week but for the big game where the family and everybody is gone. I think i'd pay a house sitter a few thousand to park themselves on the couch for a week.

You have to keep it secured or in your possession at all times or risk it getting it stolen.
