Kevin Durant injury update: Likely out to start NBA Finals
Kevin Durant missed the last game of the Warriors second-round series against the Houston Rockets and missed the entire Western Conference Finals. The biggest question surrounding the Warriors camp since completing the four-game sweep over the Portland Trailblazers is whether Kevin Durant would be back in time for the NBA Finals, and it appears as if we have our answer.
According to the Warriors PR team, "it is unlikely that [Durant] will play at the beginning of the 2019 NBA Finals." This is tough news for a Warriors team hoping that a full nine days off would help the Warriors guys with ailing injuries get ready for the final four-to-seven games of the season. While Durant is out to start the Finals, the team is still hopeful that he will see some action in the series.

Things appear to be a little better for DeMarcus Cousins, who practiced with the team for the first time since tearing his left quad in the second game of the postseason on April 16. The Warriors anticipate that Cousins will be good to go at some point during the Finals, but there is no set date for his return yet.
The team will take a wait-and-see approach with both players and re-evaluate them again next Wednesday, a day before the Finals starts. By then, we should have a better idea of whether Durant will be able to play at all and an actual return date for Cousins.
