Holed a 3 wood from over 200 yards on the par 5 13th hole and went on to win the tournament! Holing a shot in a practice round isn't that unusual.

When my shot hits the water, it stays in the water.

He had to have topped that unintentionally. The ace was a total fluke.

15. Sarazen Hit A 4 Wood

Not a 3 wood. And it was 235 yards, so easily over 200! An amazing shot for 85 years ago, given the hardware they had.

I agree that's the better shot. Rahm's shot is fun, but...

I've seen lots a trick shots. Many are astounding.
But, Geno did it under tournament pressure with many of the world's best players competing.
And, he won the tournament.

I'd also call the famous Tiger chip-in better. 999 out of 1000 golfers, hitting that shot 10 times each wouldn't get a ball inside 10 feet. Tiger's one & only chance went in!

'hardware' could be put in quotes, or 'wood' should be capitalized!!! I LOVE all that old footage. I am only 51 but used to love the reruns of the Golf Channel's old Shell Wonderful World serial - each one of them. I wish the golf channel would show more old footage of the greats, regardless of swing or equipment obsolescence. Player commentary is ageless/priceless. Anything Gary McCord says is gold.

Any chip in under pressure is perfect golf.

Hit them long and straight, Prof GAC.

Also, health to you and your loved ones!

I played competitively (amateur) for several years.
But, now it's recreation, in retirement. I ended the season at a 4.3 handicap, so I'm still hitting them straight, but they don't go as far as they used to!!! The blue tees are out of the question!
Spate of warm weather, so we're still playing, but all forward tees for the winter. Can go low, but doesn't really count.
There's always next March.
Thanks again!

VJ Singh made a nearly identical shot on this hole in 2009. Look it up. Hole in one, skimmed off the water, yada.

And he’s making a good point with humour; it’s easy to get WAY to many thoughts in your head and forget to hit the ball! 😂

Is my nephew. One hell of a shot. Not Rahms first time. A couple of years ago he broke a 3 way tie with a hole in one to win a tournament.

21. It's Only One Stroke

A ball lost in a hazard is a one stroke penalty, with next shot options depending on whether it's a line-of-play hazard or a lateral one.
I was a qualified rules official, but we're very liberal about the rules at our place. It's supposed to be fun.
