Playoff races

Washington blew a 3-0 lead to the Jets not too long ago to lose 4-3 in OT. They're sitting at the 8 spot.

The Kings lead the Pacific division with 84 points with the Coyotes right behind with 84. Phoenix has played an extra game so LA has the edge. Dallas and San Jose are 1 and 2 points back. Dallas is sitting at 8 in Conference. Colorado, San Jose, and Calgary are right behind with no more than 2 points the difference.

Phoenix has 2 games vs San Jose and 2 games against St. Louis left on their schedule for their final 7 games. Also Anaheim isn't a slouch.

The East Buffalo is at #9 with the same amount of points with 82. Winnipeg is #10 with 78.

that way they'll be an outcry for some major housecleaning. Sharks GM Doug Wilson has taken a team that made the WC finals 2 years in a row and turned them into what looks to be an also ran.

He traded Devon Setoguchi and Dany Heatley, a pair that combined for 48 goals last year and have put up 39 so far for Minnesota this season, for a defenseman in Brent Burns when the team's GAA was just fine, and Martin Havlat who is one of the more injury prone players in the NHL...the two have scored but 17 goals between them..

So, while the Sharks GAA compared to last year has stayed virtually the same (2.51-2.54) their scoring per game has gone down from 2.96 to 2.64. Is it any wonder they've dropped back to the rest of the pack?
