Let’s get right to the only question that matters: Did Duke get “Laettnered”?

As in, was Duke’s epic last-second loss to UConn Sunday—the Blue Devils fumbling the ball at midcourt, the Huskies recovering and finding freshman Braylon Mullins for a game-winning 3-pointer—the spiritual equivalent of what happened 34 years ago, in the 1992 Elite Eight, when Duke’s Christian Laettner, the most polarizing player on Earth’s most polarizing college team, took a long pass, dribbled, spun and sunk Kentucky at the buzzer?
