Tiger is leaving the country for his treatment......
A judge April 1 approved Tiger Woods request to travel out of the country to start comprehensive inpatient treatment following his DUI-related arrest days earlier, according to court records.
The motion was approved the afternoon of April 1 by Martin County Court Judge Darren Steele.
Woods, 50, was arrested March 27 by Martin County Sheriffs deputies on misdemeanor DUI property damage and refusal to submit to urine test charges following a crash on Jupiter Island.
A not guilty plea was entered by his attorney Douglas Duncan, who also represented Woods in a 2017 DUI arrest case in Palm Beach County.
Based upon the defendants treating physician, the out-of-country treatment facility recommendation is based upon the defendants complex clinical presentation and the urgent need for a level of care that cannot safely or effectively be done within the United States, as his privacy has been repeatedly compromised, the motion states.
Ongoing medical scrutiny and public exposure create significant barriers to his care and would result in setbacks and an inability to fully engage in treatment.
