'Xcept I was a tigers fan. I remember bringing a portable radio into church to listen to one of the games with a hidden earphone (my hair was long enough). Go Mickey Lolich!

In 1968, Bob Gibson was pitching for the defending World Champions, and eventual pennant winners. His ERA was 1.12, his WHIP was 0.853,and his record was 22-9. All of which begs the question, how did he manage to lose ANY, let alone 9.

I think Mickey was in the audience and took a bow.
