Potential Seattle Seahawks ownership bidder reportedly emerges

A new name has emerged as a potential bidder for the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks, who are currently up for sale by the Paul Allen estate.

According to an article published Tuesday by Liz Hoffman of Semafor, billionaire financier Todd Boehly is “weighing a bid” for the Seahawks.

Boehly is chairman and owner of Chelsea Football Club and a member of the ownership groups for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Sparks. He is also co-founder, chairman and CEO of Eldridge Industries, per his bio on the Dodgers’ front office directory.

The Semafor report says that Boehly “has approached potential partners including Guggenheim Partners CEO Mark Walter, with whom he jointly owns the Lakers and Chelsea soccer club, and Middle East investors about teaming up on a bid for the Seahawks, people familiar with the matter said.”
