but can usually make room for the Donks, the AFC West, and sports teams from the West in general.

IMO, Elway has been the problem and needs to remove himself from personel decisions. Maybe he can total up concessions, go back to selling cars or something else.

Reading through I'm piecing together that it was an overzealous spouse or inconsiderate family member yelling at the tv that drove you to that decision? What about that predicament change?

I'm lucky or unlucky (depending on your viewpoint) because it's just me and the wife (who cares nothing about football) and two cats, so unless a buddy happens to be over, I'm watching/cheering/grousing alone.

He was always overzealous, but it started to get way worse. He'd actually get up and stand right in front of the television, screaming for so long that I'd miss the next play. Then he'd continue to obsess over it.

Then things got way worse. He voted for trump. He went completely bonkers. I grew to despise him and couldn't stand to be in the same room with him. What's funny is that he was convinced that I was some sort of good luck charm for the Broncos. When they lost I'd joke that it was because I wasn't watching, and he actually started to believe it.

Throughout our marriage, watching the Broncos was something we always did. No matter how busy we were, we'd each drop what we were doing and watch the game together. It seems sort of silly that it was part of the "glue" in our marriage, but it kind of was.

What ended our decaying marriage for good was when I caught him having an affair. After the divorce, I found out it wasn't the first. I am very happy to live all by myself now, and I get to watch my football games in peace. I love the early games most. I can get my Broncos coffee mug and treat and snuggle in with my Broncos throw, and maybe my cat, and I'm just as content as I could ever want to be.

I'm glad you're out of that marriage and in a better place. I was a kid when my parents divorced and I was devastated. As the years progressed, though, I came to realize it was better for all that they did. They honestly had no business being together in the first place.

My mom is a Denver fan going back to the Craig Morton and Red Miller days, so it was quite a thrill for her a few years back during a family visit when we got to see a pre-season game at Invesco versus the Packers. We sat in the upper deck and the heat wave we felt from the propane "horse" after each score was intense, lol.

I am also envious of your time zone. When a game starts at 8:30 in the East I'm ready to fall asleep by halftime.

One at Mile High, and one at Invesco. The one at Mile High was just absolutely miserable. I enjoyed nothing at all about it. We were in nosebleed seats and froze our butts off.

The experience at Invesco was great. I can't remember why, but we got excellent seats, and it was a beautiful day.

All things considered, I'd rather watch at home. I can see better, and everything is just so much easier. Of course, given an opportunity, I wouldn't turn down tickets.

The ex-husband wasn't the father of my kids, and came into our lives after their dad died when they were teens. Two of my sons grew to care for him, but he grew to hate my oldest son and my daughter. None of them speak to him anymore. Because of his antics he lost a family, including grandchildren. I kind of doubt his girlfriend's family has welcomed him into their fold, but it doesn't concern me. We're a happy, united family again. Getting him out of it was the right thing to do.

And, yeah, the night games are rough. I mean, I have to stay up and watch, but I find myself nodding off. But it would be just wrong to give up and go to bed.
