The Elder Scrolls Online

is currently having a stress test this weekend, if you don't already have a beta key you can pick one up at

Curse Gaming.

You will need a free account there, but if you're a former WOW player you probably already have one anyways

So far, so good. Fun hearing some of the well-known actors who worked on this game, including John Cleese.

This is the third beta for this game I've participated in. I was happy I got to keep my character from the previous beta.

Not risking it, I'll be non-specific. I'm not impressed. The sacrifices necessary to make an MMO of Elder Scrolls has convinced me fairly quickly that they should have contemplated making something closer to the previous material in party-multiplay...smaller groups in a more interactive and immersive world.

It feels too much like every other MMO ever made, not enough like The Elder Scrolls excepting its adherence to the same source material.

I don't want to play with 40 people in a world where I can do very little interaction and read few books in a world where I am largely constrained in where I can go. I want to be able to play something that plays like Skyrim or Oblivion or even Morrowind with my 5 closest friends.

So I guess it would not be appropriate to post any comments about specific details...

to bad I read my email late so I only got to play for a little while. I look forward to this game I hope the end game RVR will be fun. I used to love playing DAOC in relic raids. Me and my friends had a little guild and we would have a blast joining in with 100 other people for massive all day battles. I miss playing till my eyes bled.

if anyone's interested (Friday noon to Sunday one minute before midnight.)

edited to add: PM me your email if interested.
(It says I can invite "a" friend, but when I click on their provided link I get a page where entering several emails is possible.)

NO NDA for this beta test, by the way.
