I'd guess things have changed quite a bit since.
My best souvenir was a case of malaria. Hit me on the flight home from Paris.
Ran into an American tourist group in the capital. Hotel Colbert is nice.

3. Yes, 2019 I think. We're busy.

My brother works for an NGO and we got a fabulous insight.
We arrived while a cyclone was departing in January.

My wife broke her ankle on first evening and we got to experience the medical community.

We traversed rain swollen rivers and the Indri trapeze artistry in the jungle.

We dealt with expats and visited with volunteer managed prenatal clinics and self funded credit unions of 25 participants.

We had the frois grass and Zebu tongue.

We had ringtailed lemurs sitting on our heads and chameleons on our arms. At different times.

My sister in law had a diamond ripped off her neck while we walked the Market in Tana.

I found a French Silver coin in my hunt for a trinket.

We had vendors come to my brother's house with rare stones and cashmere sweaters.
