Train from Genoa, and staying there not expensive, a room in someone's home. A while ago, but do your best!

and am seriously looking into going there. I would love to stay in Paris for a few days as I've not seen much of the museums, but Cinque Terre? Oh my, seriously looking. Thanks for the tip.

Oh dear

is that I loved the places I have been to so much that I'd want to go back there too. We really fell in love with northern Italy on the Swiss border. Lake Lugano. I now want to go to Lake Magiorre. Venice, Rome and Capri. Maybe could swing around to Cinque Terre. I kind of want to see Sicily for some reason. Have you been there? We found cheap flights within Italy too - which saves some time.

where did you go? are you going back soon?

Rome, Naples, + Capri as a kid with my family. Honeymoon (1984) included renting car and driving around much of Italy, so covered south from Rome to Sicily through Amalfi coast, back north through Florence > Lago Magiorre, day in Swizerland.

Later trips included Venice, Genoa + Cinque Terre, Turin, and Aosta, (so my husband could ski and I could hang in a city/town.)

Would like to return to Florence, and spend some time in Tuscany small towns which I haven't visited. Did Florence, and might have had lunch in Siena, but I understand there's lots more there.
