Easter: a day rich in tradition for Christians and non-religious people alike

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) For Christians, the forty days of Lent are almost up: Easter is Sunday. 22News found out how people planned on celebrating the day, even if they’re not going to Church.

Easter is the holiest day of the year for Christians. Their belief that Jesus Christ rose from the dead is the very heart of Christian religions.

Churches are busier than they are on Sundays in ordinary time. “Always packed and I think too with students being away, they’re home too so that’s understandable,” Debbie Delaney of Hadley told 22News.

For the Delaneys, Church is the one tradition that never changes about Easter.

Some of them revolve tightly around the church and others have nothing to with it.
