A slice of life - Some good news for one Syrian Catholic family

I know a family that owns a local market here in CA. One of the eldest has been hoping that his son could successfully emigrate to the US. The processes they used are closing, getting narrower. So it was up in the air.

Went by today. His son got a refugee visa stamped on Friday, has made it to a US embassy in a near by country. From Homs, no less. Will probably be in CA with his family here by mid-week.

Not really a religion forum post or issue, I know, but didn't know where else to share it. There are larger issues in play though for Catholic communities in Syria. Some political, some religious, some historical. It's a complicated picture from what I can garner.

In any event - the dad's face was beaming when I stopped by to wish he and his a Happy Easter. Kind of a neat coincidence.

who think they are persecuted. The Christians of the near and middle east are truly persecuted.

Christ is risen, Indeed He is, Alleluia!

Christ is risen from the dead!
Trampling down death by death,
and upon those in the tomb
bestowing life!
