A religious discrimination lawsuit filed by a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper from Knoxville will go to a federal trial.
Trooper De'Ossie Dingus filed a complaint after THP fired him in 2010. Dingus, who is a Muslim, says THP required him to attend a training meeting on weapons of mass destruction, but the video focused on the radicalization of Islamic boys.
Major Kevin Taylor, a military liaison with the Department of Homeland Security, conducted the class. Dingus says Taylor referred to him as "one of them" and a "black Muslim" when he approached him with some complaints after class.
Dingus filed a complaint with THP, and Taylor filed one in return, claiming Dingus was disruptive and displayed characteristics of a terrorist.

(33,982 posts)I get the feeling this guy has been on the receiving end of quite a bit of bullying, outside the complaint in this case.
