I missed another holiday? Oh, hell. Still, if it's a holiday there must be a way to profit from it!



Hope those of you who celebrate or observe it enjoyed it, if that's its purpose, or went into introspection, if it's like that.

I once wished a Jewish friend a "happy holiday" over one that is supposed to be somber and was abruptly put in my place, so I'm cautious.

6. It's okay to say "Happy Beltane."

It's basically a 48-hour party; sacred but joyful. In the old days, an astonishing number of babies were born in February.

7. I'm still waiting for Hallmark

to come out with a line of Good Friday greeting cards.

8. It's May Day here and the working people are out in the street.

The minimum wage here is indefensible.

10. I celebrated by splurging

on some heirloom tomato plants. Patriotic, too--Cherokee Purples.

I celebrated by playing silly games and strangling voles with some fellow BritAtheists. They are a hoot.

Now I'm off to see how the Mexicans celebrate it.
