Franciscan to remove saints' names from a dozen hospitals

I don't know wether to laugh or cheer

http://www.ibj.com/articles/60229-franciscan-to-remove-saints-names-from-a-dozen-hospitals

One of the largest Catholic hospital systems in the Midwest is saying farewell to saints’ names at 12 of its hospital campuses in Indiana and Illinois.

In a move to create a stronger identity, Franciscan Alliance will become Franciscan Health, and will stop using the names of St. Francis, St. James, St. Anthony and other familiar saints at its hospitals, the company announced Tuesday.

The comments are as expected

This does not create a stronger identity, it creates a weaker identity. Our Catholic identity has made a difference in world history for centuries. To squash it is pitiful. No, it's disgusting. We are to stand out, not blend in. Remember lukewarm is hell-bound.

WHEN WILL YOU COWARDS GET SOME BACKBONE, FOLLOW THE EXAMPLE OF CHRIST, AND STAND UP TO THE FORCES THAT WANT TO CRUCIFY CATHOLICISM? YOUR WEAKNESS IS DISGUSTING--FAR WORSE THAN THEIR HATRED OF YOUR FLIMSY FAITH.

Onward Christian soldiers!

They should at least take some solace in the fact that nothing will change about how their church will continue to restrict medical care options for ALL women, Catholic or not. Hooray!
