St Pauls Cathedral has appointed its first full-time female chorister in its 1,000-year history.
Carris Jones, 35, was unanimously selected to join the choirs alto section by a panel including the cathedrals director of music, organist and team of clergymen after several rounds of auditions.
St Pauls musical director Andrew Carwood said Jones stood out because of her powerful and lyrical voice.

(71,265 posts)There are still Anglicans/Episcopalians that think women should not only not be ordained, but also should not even be on the altar. Pisses me off.

(71,265 posts)Personally I feel the bishop should force them to hire female clergy. My parish has 3 female and one male clergy.

(22,340 posts)I would be in the Anglican church. All the familiarity of the RCC without the stuff I hated. Haven't meet an Anglican priest I didn't like. The local one joined our chamber choir to sing Vivaldi's Gloria with us this season. Great guy.
