Christians: If you don't do something about your psychopathic preachers, we will

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/01/north-carolina-pastor-sea_n_1468618.html#s830817&title=Stacey_Campfield_Virtually

From the beautiful mind of Reverend Samuel Harris:

"So your little son starts to act a little girlish when he is four years old and instead of squashing that like a cockroach and saying, 'Man up, son, get that dress off you and get outside and dig a ditch, because that is what boys do,' you get out the camera and you start taking pictures of Johnny acting like a female and then you upload it to YouTube and everybody laughs about it and the next thing you know, this dude, this kid is acting out childhood fantasies that should have been squashed.

Dads, the second you see your son dropping the limp wrist, you walk over there and crack that wrist. Man up. Give him a good punch. Ok? You are not going to act like that. You were made by God to be a male and you are going to be a male. And when your daughter starts acting too butch, you reign her in. And you say, 'Oh, no, sweetheart. You can play sports. Play them to the glory of God. But sometimes you are going to act like a girl and walk like a girl and talk like a girl and smell like a girl and that means you are going to be beautiful. You are going to be attractive. You are going to dress yourself up.'"

Seriously, if you wonder why Atheism is flourishing, and belief is dropping - even in the United States of Stupid - this is why.

Seriously, what he is doing is encouraging hate crimes.

Punch your son in the gut?

both the gay or straight one, wanted to do that girly, girly thing. I think the first time my straight daughter ever wore a gown and had her hair done, etc, done, was at her WEDDING at 25 years old. She ditched her prom for an Ice Hockey State Tournment. BTW, her gay sister DID go to the Prom, gown, hair, and all, with a male gay date who she was very good friends with.

In the long run, does it really matter? Just be comfortable being who you are.

But not to someone who lacks comprehension.

Take it one stage at a time:

Christians - a group

Pastors - a sub-group

Psychopathic - a qualifier identifying a minority within the sub-group

Take care of - an action that, in context, means remove from positions of authority and leadership.

Or we'll do it for you - a result of the group "Christians" not taking action.

My only disagreement with it is that all faiths seem to have psychopathic leaders, not just Christians.

This perks up my anarchist philosophies, as I am a believer that all leaders are, by virtue of their positions, psychopathic.

But that's a whole discussion within itself

is that the moral inversion only works on the religion you were born into and believe in.

Christians, for example, are fine with circumcising male babies, while condemning the practice of female genital mutilation in Islamic countries.

But hey, if it's Christian, and you call it "circumcision", male genital mutilation is just fine.

and I really doubt, as gay-friendly and liberal as my congregation is, that I could get the parish to go along with that.

Our clergy do march in the local Gay Pride parade with our GLBT members and host the church service (full service, with choir) during Pride Weekend, the main setup for which is near our church.

I say that referring both to what Christians be expected to do about this guy or what atheists will otherwise. This makes about as much sense as a Republican saying "Democrats: If you don't do anything about your LaRouchite crazies, we will".

there are a variety of historical rhetorical approaches known, encouraging various people to rethink their positions, of which "I beseech you in the bowels of Christ think it possible you may be mistaken" is among my favorites, but the most general experience seems to be that one person seldom listens to what another says
