You "Googled Bible verse on Patriotism and pride"? I'm not sure what you were hoping to find (I'm guessing here you expected to find nothing, so hooray for selection bias amirite?). Patriotism is a modern concept. You're not likely to references to it in anything written before the mid-17th century.

Google Bible verses and intolerance and see what you get. Exodus 19 has a nice ring to it... you know, the verse where God tells Moses the Israelites are better than everyone else.

how to cure a jealous husband
Numbers 5: 11-31
even tells how to do it.

Thanks for the context. But, them fundamentalist don't need any, so I can skip that when talking Bible stuff...

The only difference I could find between Sharia law and Mosaic law, is in one you can eat camel meat and you can also work on Sunday.

...and it won't make the slightest dent in their worldview. Smarter ones will rationalize, but most will simply assume you're not reading the passage correctly, or worse, trying to deceive them.

they quote one at me. Most just drop their jaw and walk away. Just hope they will think twice before they try to save or convert. Never rude or slam a door on anyone. I think that encourages them.

I just tell them I can't talk right now because I'm too busy masturbating.

Pretty effective. Not subtle, of course. But effective.

Once in a while they have interesting ideas to share, if not I'll share mine. I'm retired and have lots of time on my hands.

and tell me why so many liberal Christians are OK with homosexuality.

Christians of all stripes ignore the parts of their bible that they don't like. They find a way to justify it no matter what.

In my Red Letter Bible, Jesus says nothing about the subject. Paul is the only one that says anything and he never talk with Jesus until after his death.
A rabi told me once that the OT wasn't written for us.

Except for Paul, which you disregard.

So in other words, you are doing exactly what I said people do when there are parts of the bible they don't like: they find a way to disregard those parts.

I'm confused though, didn't you say you're not a Christian at one time? Do I have you confused with someone else?

Never stopped me from reading.

My rejection or problem with Paul stems from the inconsistencies found by scholars.

I find the study of religion one of the great things in life. Me, I think when you die, you are dead and your hard drive is wiped clean. After that, I have no idea and reject all other ideas without proof.

I love art, but can't draw a straight line or round circle.
I love music, but can't carry a tune in a bucket.

My majors and interest in college were psychology and anthropology and look at religion in those terms.
