Wisconsin church cancels former NFL player’s speech over tweet supporting gay NBA player

Leroy Butler, the former Green Bay Packers player credited with inventing the Lambeau Leap touchdown celebration, says that he had a speaking event canceled by a Wisconsin church after the pastor learned that he had sent out a single tweet in support of gay NBA player Jason Collins.

Following a Monday column in Sports Illustrated where Collins revealed that he was gay, Butler had tweeted: “Congrats to Jason Collins.”

Early on Wednesday morning, the Super Bowl XXXI champion, who now uses his foundation to fight breast cancer, said that one church decided to cut him from the lineup.

we know there is only a very small minority of Christians in this country that are bigoted morons. They have no effect on the political scheme of things. Or so we have been told.
