THIS IS THE JEWISH GROUP!Jewish Centers Across U.S. Evacuated Amid New Wave of Bomb Threats
Source: Haaretz
Several Jewish Community Centers in the U.S. were evacuated Wednesday after receiving near-simultaneous bomb threats, according to various local reports, just nine days after a nearly identical incident targeted 16 Jewish insitutions across the eastern U.S.
Bomb threats were reported in Miami and Palm Springs Garden, Florida, Birmingham, Alabama, West Hartford and Woodbridge, Connecticut, Newton and Worcester, Massachusetts, Scotch Plains, New Jersey, Albany and Syracuse, New York, Detroit, Michigan, San Rafael, California and Nashville, Tennessee.
A local NBC affiliate said two community centers had been evacuated in Connecticut, while the Miami Beach Jewish Community Center in Florida was also threatened and briefly evacuated Wednesday, according to local police. At the same time, the Jewish center in Birmingham, Alabama was also evacuated, as was a center in Nashville, Tennessee, according to The Tennessean.

Keep in mind this is second wave of threats, but one does have to wonder if this, German court calls synagogue torching an act to 'criticize Israel, will be the reaction should an Americanized Kristallnacht takes place.

(3,051 posts)Here are my thoughts:
1. I don't think it is serious Islamic radical types. They don't give warnings. They want surprise so they get as many casualties as possible.
2. That narrows it down to:
A. kids/assholes, looking for fun
B. Nazis types
C. Non-serious Islamic radicals
D. False flag people/pissed off Jewish kids who don't want to play basketball/mad at dad.
I am leaning to option A with the internet creating a bandwagon effect.
Not worried, in other words.

(16,317 posts)Or group of losers. The thing is you really never know. It's organized to the extent that they targeted JCCs in multiple states and that makes it different. The police must have info about the calls but won't release anything to the public for obvious reasons but they must know if it's an individual or a group.

(53,959 posts)I do like conspiracy theories, but I try to stay within the realm of reality or possibility. However, I wonder if these threats are a type of "two-fold test". The first "fold" is gaging public reaction, which has been paltry, and the second "fold" is seeing how security works. The most likely reason is just maliciousness in trying to scare the Jewish population and is nothing more than an act of cowardice which will not involve anything major, though something is bound to happen at some point, IMO.
