1. Sounds like they have their act together.

This reads like panicked Jew-baiting from a Jew, which I despise and find it even more distasteful when pimped by Jews, especially ones who hate Israel. For most Jews in the US, Israel isn't even in the Top 5 Reasons to vote for so-and-so, and in some cases, not even in the Top 10 Reasons. However, every year, without fail, we se shit like this, usually slung by Jews, but always picked up by bigots and other ne'er-do-wells trying to insinuate an age old canard, Jews aren't really Americans and can't be trusted.

Roger Cohen has been with NYTimes for a long time, he's informing us of a significant occurence in our community, relevant to Democrats' and U.S's well-being.

You do know, I assume, that Ohio is important to the re-election of President Obama, and that Cuyahoga County is important to Ohio. (Or maybe you don't know that.)

You certainly should know that the well-being of Israel is an important issue to many Jews, and many of them support the likes of Eric Cantor, and perhaps this idiot Mandel, for that 'reason.' They should be warned against such foolishness.

3. Elleng, the article you provided is absurd.

The fact is that while Jews are concerned with Israel's well-being, it doesn't carry the rank that many think it does; including a number of Jews. Every election this crap keeps getting peddled from the right and the left. The fact is that barring some massive disaster, most Jews will vote democrat, and the ones that vote republican have always done so. Democratic Jews, when pissed off, will vote third-party, but almost never republican. There was a few articles about this in the late 80's and early 90's, as I remember discussing this in regards to popular stereotypes about various groups, in that case, Jews.

This crap needs to stop being peddled...PERIOD!

Maybe you didn't read this:

Robert Goldberg, former chairman of the United Jewish Communities (now The Jewish Federations of North America) and a Romney supporter, said he believed that number would drop to 60 percent this time. “Jews just don’t trust Obama on Israel,” he told me. “The president has no sympathy for Israel. His sympathy is for the Muslim world he knew as a child.”

If Goldberg is right about a shift, that would be significant. He argues that Obama is anti-business and anti-Israel and believes a faltering economy above all is pushing Jewish voters to change position. (Polls in Israel show Israelis strongly favoring a Romney victory.)

So, don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining!

The article makes it sound like this is a massive "running of the Jews," yet not a goddamed thing other than some Romney-supporting puke believes it to be so.

4. I read about Goldberg, and I also read:

'The Jews of Cleveland are arguing at high volume. They are good at disputation. In this case the argument could change the course of things far beyond Cleveland.

James Ratner sent me an e-mail saying, “This may well be a case where the noise is obscuring the music.” Beneath all the shouting, he suggested, Jewish sentiment remains solidly Democratic. “In a meeting this week of 60 members of a woman’s group at Park Synagogue there was absolute unanimity behind Obama. No one was voting for Romney.”

Those Jewish women know exactly what Romney and Mandel represent: an obscurantist and invasive threat to their rights in the name of a God whose wishes these men presume to know.'

The article does not make it sound like 'this is a massive 'running of the Jews,' but that the idiot Mandel has the attention of some, which is causing problems for some among a particular group.

6. You are aware, are you not, of the repugs proclivty to steal elections?

7. Which has nothing to do with the topic of Jews "fleeing" to vote for Romney.

Every vote does count, but here's some reality for you; if EVERY Jew in the county (according to the article that is 80,000) were to vote for Romney, that would drop Obama's previous margin (250,000) to 170,000, which according to the article is 5,000 below the alleged needed new margin (175,000) for Romney to take the county, and possibly the state. Do you, even for a fucking moment, believe that every Jew is going to vote Romney? But, hey, let's look to the article again...let's say it is just the 20% drop (80% to 60% support for Obama), then that is an additional 16,000 votes, which is still miles away from the alleged needed 175,000 (159,000).

The true nature of the article is more about a family issue and just because some of them are voting for their republican family member, it doesn't mean they will also vote Romney.

The Jews of Cuyahoga County seem to be doing OK, and don't need any action from anyone.
