(Jewish Group) Support For Women's March Softens Among Jews Amid Perceived Anti-Semitism

(THIS IS THE JEWISH GROUP! RESPECT!!)

Rabbi Rebecca Einstein Schorr says that participating in the first Women’s March in 2017 was “one of the most uplifting, powerful moments of my life. It was just an incredible experience.”

That moment is over. Schorr feels anti-Semitism has tainted the march.

“I can’t in good conscience say that I support a movement or feel a part of a movement that clearly does not embrace me back,” Schorr told the Forward.

Schorr’s feelings reflect a broader trend in the relationship between the Women’s March and the Jewish community, which started out on a high note right after President Trump’s election but has since seen some rough spots over perceived anti-Semitism. Now a more organized backlash is forming. Some individuals and groups are speaking out against the march, and a Jewish organization has formed to push for change within the march and provide an alternative for disenchanted activists.

The Women’s March could not be reached for comment.

When the Women’s March coalesced in the wake of Trump’s election, many Jewish groups, such as Bend the Arc, the National Council of Jewish Women and the Reform Action Coalition, joined as partners after satisfying themselves that there was no Israel bashing. Cracks appeared in the coalition soon after the inauguration, however, starting with leader Linda Sarsour’s claim in March that one could not be a Zionist and feminist.

GOOD! Bigotry should not be tolerated by those who are supposedly fighting against it! Of course, I find it most interesting that much of the anti-Semitism is coming from a group which is also VERY misogynistic! WTF?!

As we watch Netanyahu try to head the middle east into nuclear war. I have no problem bashing Israel.

Bashing Israel is generally done because people have believed, and, indeed internalized, lies of virulent antisemitic trolls.

Almost all Israel bashing is based on lies. Many liberals are mislead and repeat those lies.

And then there are those like the Women's March leader who is herself a virulent antisemite, calling for ethnic cleansing of Jews from the Middle East.

that IS antisemitism.

The Middle East is made up of 16 countries:

Israel - 8 million citizens.

Bahrain, Cyprus, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, UAE & Yemen - 400 million plus.

Holding Israel to a higher standard than any or all of the rest of the countries in the Middle East is the epitome of antisemitism.

A Jewish homeland is needed. Jews are often under attack everywhere for how we dress, pray, eat, etc.. Shitty idiots in "open minded" countries pass laws targeting religious garb or animal slaughter. Does criticism of Israel mean attacking Jews on US campuses? Attacking synagogues in Germany and getting off with no hate crime charge because you're upset about Israel?

No one ever has an answer for us. You don't want us to live like Jews but you don't want us to have a homeland either. Too bad. We will continue to exist.

Yet, that question seems to go unanswered too. Just for shit and giggles, I decided to look at the Women's March page...here is their "About", including their mission statement. Noticing anything missing?

"We believe that Women’s Rights are Human Rights and Human Rights are Women’s Rights. We must create a society in which women - including Black women, Native women, poor women, immigrant women, disabled women, Muslim women, lesbian queer and trans women - are free and able to care for and nurture their families, however they are formed, in safe and healthy environments free from structural impediments."

On Facebook there are many groups for a variety of things and many are left leaning, hence the name Leftbook.

Many of the groups proudly proclaim how intersectional they are and have a laundry list of things people cannot do such as no racsism, no transphobia, and the like.

What is almost always missing? No antisemitism. There's never a rule about that.

"Intersectional" groups don't want us.

They've managed to alienate more than one group of supporters along the way.

I think the time of relevance has passed for them. It was a great, great thing that happened on DAY ONE of this nightmare but now...well it's time to move on.

With elections coming there are many much more worthy things for time, energy & money to go into.

They have even managed to piss off women in general, who aren't Jewish, Bi, lesbian, or trans, because of the nature of the speaker being defended.
