(47,475 posts)Four days on the job, Palestinian Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib from Michigan accused Jews of dual loyalty, an anti-Semitic canard, in a tweet on Sunday.
In response to Democratic opposition to a bill that included anti-BDS language, Tlaib wrote:
They forgot what country they represent. This is the US where boycotting is a right & part of our historical fight for freedom & equality. Maybe a refresher on our US Constitution is in order, then get back to opening up our government instead of taking our rights away.
"They" was an obvious reference to Jewish Americans, though it was Sen. Marco Rubio, a non-Jew who had inserted the language in the bill.
It is striking that Tlaib feels emboldened to use such language, perhaps suspecting that her base will support her. The Democratic party did not condemn the congresswoman for her remarks.

I, and many Jews, have heard this song before. We know all the lyrics (excuses). They aren't new to us. Attacking the loyalty of Jews for simply being Jews or using Israel as a measurement of Jewish loyalty, is anti-Semitic!
