(Jewish Group) New York county GOP takes down video warning of Hasidic Jewish 'takeover'

(THIS IS THE JEWISH GROUP! RESPECT!!)

A county Republican Party in New York on Thursday removed a video from its Facebook page widely condemned as anti-Semitic.

The video was posted Wednesday by the Rockland County Republican Party and featured a warning of a “takeover” by Hasidic Jews, NBC 4 New York reported.

The video included local news clips detailing community issues claimed to be caused by the recent influx of Jewish people in the county set to ominous music with images of dark storm clouds.

It included messages like "our families" and "our way of life" are at stake.

"If they win, we lose," the video concluded. "Take back control."

Apparently, there are some who don't think this type of rhetoric is anti-Semitic, or even wrong, because, you know...reasons...

I have never been able to understand this weird-ass phobia.

And it doesn’t count that they finally took down the video. They STILL put it up, had it made, paid for it, and some asshole(s) approved it.

For SHAME!

I don’t know that much about Jewish traditions or have intimate knowledge of that heritage across the ages of the Jewish community, other than learning from books and history and friends who are Jewish. Strictly an outsider, though, as a lifelong Catholic. But I sure can sympathize.

Even a mere glancing study of the human condition over enables me to sympathize. Even a general understanding of the sacredness and anguish through history that underlies - that, too, helps me to sympathize.

This is one of those situations in which all I can ask - is “why?”

Seriously. Why?

Why must we hate?

Why?

the thread on this and I remembered an episode from Ira Glass' "This American Life" that made me fume as a Jew and as an American.

PLEASE if you have an hour listen to it:

I am a secular Jew, and I live in the southern part of Rockland County.

I am the mother of three children and they all attended one of our local districts — one of them still does. Since they were small, they’ve had pennies thrown at them, been told they will burn in hell because they don’t believe in Jesus, and been told that Hitler missed them and they should have been put in ovens.

Several years ago we had “Jump a Jew Day” at one of our schools. And recently, my high schooler was told over and over again that she must have measles because she is a Jew. Kids were questioning her, asking her why she’s not vaccinated. (She is vaccinated.)

These are just our personal stories.

Many of my Jewish friends have had their children met with similar hate. And the stories that my more observant Jewish friends have told me about things that have been screamed at them and their children from passing cars on the streets of Rockland County are horrific. A friend of mine was driving her young daughter and her friend up Route 59 in Nanuet, when a religious Jewish man drove by next to them. And her daughter’s friend, a little girl, yelled “YOU DON’T BELONG HERE!”

Apparently, she didn't get the message that because the video was about a "certain" type of "pushy, very religious group" of Jews, it wasn't "real" anti-Semitism. Why, even some Jews justified the video...surprise...NOT.
